Chicken Kosha with Potato
A Bengali chicken kosha is a chicken curry cooked by continuously braising the meat over a medium to high flame. The end result is a thick, spicy, semi-solid gravy that comes bundled with a halved potato that has absorbed some of the delicious gravy.
Ingredients:-
- Chicken - 1 kg.
- Potato - 4 big size
- Onion - 3 big size
- Tomato - 1 big size
- Mustard oil - 250 g.
- Ginger, garlic paste - 2 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 2 tablespoon
- Cumin powder - 1 tablespoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
How to make Chicken Kosha with Potato:-
- Clean and wash the chicken pieces. Marinate with ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, mustard oil, and red chili powder.
- Now cover and keep the marinated chicken for 20-30 minutes.
- Peel and cut the potatoes into half. Wash, drain, and keep aside.
- Thinly slice the onions.
- Heat oil in a pan. Fry the potatoes until light golden brown, remove from oil, and keep aside.
- In the same pan, lightly fry the chopped onions until light brown.
- Now when the onions are fried, stir well with the marinated chicken for 8-9 minutes.
- Now add the fried potatoes and salt to taste and stir again.
- Now cover with the right amount of water for 5-6 minutes and keep on medium heat.
- Now turn off the gas by stirring well with 1/2 teaspoon garam masala.
- Now serve Chicken Kosha with potato with plain rice.
