Chicken Burger

Buns at the ready! Coat or marinade chicken thighs and breasts to create the perfect filling for juicy burgers. Add toppings like slaw and sauce, plus your chosen side dishes, then dig in.

Ingredients:-

  1. 3 Chicken breasts [sliced to 5 or 6, about grams]
  2. ¼ cup plain yogurt / curd [for bine]
  3. ¼ tsp allspice powder or pepper powder
  4. 1 cup water
  5. 1 cup all-purpose flour or rice flour [ prefer organic / unbleached / unbromated]
  6. 1 ¼ cup bread crumbs
  7. 1 egg [ prefer organic]
  8. Oil for deep frying
  9. 6 burger buns
for sauce or dressing


  1. ¾ cup hung card / Greek yogurt or mayo as needed
  2. 2 to 3 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  3. 2 tbsp lemon juice
  4. 1 ½ tsp mustard powder or mustard sauce as needed
  5. ½  tsp pepper powder fresh
  6. Salt if using hung curd

for assembling

  1. 4 to 6 lettuce leaves or as needed
  2. Tomatoes deseeded and cut to rings

Instruction:-

  1. Whisk together yogurt, salt, allspice or pepper powder, and water.
  2. Wash and slice the breasts if very large. Add them to the buttermilk [ yogurt and water]
  3. Rest for overnight or at least 4 hours in the fridge.
  4. Mix together little salt, red chili powder, and flour. Set aside.
  5. Beat egg with 2 tbsp water. Set aside.
  6. Dip in the egg mixture and then roll in the bread crumbs.
  7. Allow resting for 10 mins.
  8. Deep fry in hot oil on medium-high heat until golden and cooked completely. Drain them on a kitchen tissue.

How to make a Zinger burger or chicken burger

  1. Slice and toast the bun on a griddle.
  2. Place the patty, then lettuce and tomato.
  3. Prepare a sauce by stirring mayo or hung curd, mustard powder, olive oil, pepper, salt, and lemon juice.
  4. Add this generously over the tomatoes. You can also add tomato ketchup. Place the other half of the bun.
  5. Serve a chicken burger immediately.
